Last weekend why my beautiful sisters wedding. I wanted to wait until we were allowed to use official pictures but I’ve kept this dress hidden for far too long and I wanted to share it with you! This gorgeous embellished cocktail dress is from Manon Baptiste at Navabi and I swear, it is the PERFECT wedding guest dress for any season. Seriously, it couldn’t have been more perfect. It’s a double layer dress, with the main body being a taipered A-line shape which flares out from just under the bust. The top layer was an embellishment of circles and sequins which sparkled in the sunshine. (We were so lucky with weather, it was absolutely perfect!)
The colour was a real wedding winner in my opinion. It was a creamy, blush pink almost pale apricot colour. With touches of metallic thread and sequins. I felt dressy but not too over the top and the floaty dress was super comfortable. The arms were just past my elbows and the sleeves were really generous (one of the reasons this dress really won me over!) I matched it with coral coloured heels and a metallic bag. (The heels were soon changed to gold flats, as total expected!) There’s something about Manon Baptiste that creates these great quality pieces that feel special to wear. I feel like I’m wearing a dress that’s actually made for me. I found out that Manon Baptiste is made to order on the Navabi website so it is a little special and is part of Navabi itself.
Some people may say this dress is a little on the expensive side (although there is a sale on now so go go go!) but the quality of the dress is amazing. Not a single sequin fell off throughout the entire day. That has to be some kind of world record. It was soft and comfortable and looked amazing. (I had some fantastic compliments too!) This was a special wedding that required a special dress. There’s something to be said for plus size occasion wear. It used to be drab, with that very ‘grandmother of the bride‘ vibe thing going on. Well not any more. Thanks to Navabi, this has to be the best dress I’ve worn to any wedding, also, as an added point as I now have a little bump growing. It’s a great maternity dress too, the floaty dress and double layering is great for comfort and style. I don’t even think it’s a stretch to say you could actually get married in this dress full stop. Just saying!
