“Size is what brings us together… individuality is what makes us our own.”

This is the tagline for the new Yours Clothing campaign and it really rings true for me. Growing up with mostly slim friends, I was always the one that had to buy shoes or accessories when we went shopping. I couldn’t fit in the majority of things that were being sold on the high street and if I did they were pretty crap. That’s the truth! Amazingly, 5 years ago I set up a blog – which is what you’re reading now. I didn’t really know what a blog was, or how it worked or even what I was really going to write about. But then it started to change.

Finding Your Plus Size Tribe With Yours Clothing

Shop: Jeans

Shop: Kimono

Shop: Cami

I’ve always loved fashion. On my first day at college, I started working in a clothes shop and that was it. Game over. Money is gone. I’d squeeze into everything and spend money on rubbish just to try and make me feel good. I just wanted to feel good about myself in the clothes that I wore. Out of every 10 things I bought, 1 probably did that. But when I started the blog, I realised there was this little world dedicated to fashion online. Then I realised there’s this whole online community focused on being plus size, fashionable and confident. It blew my mind. I couldn’t believe it. Where had all these gorgeous and confident women been all my life?

Slowly, you end up in this kind of plus size tribe. It’s not a clique, It’s just a community. A supportive one where you just know that people feel the same as you and understand. Everything from the trials and tribulations of chub rub remedies to summer dresses. There is a mutual understanding of what it means to be plus size and stylish. Size is what brings us together. Just like the Yours Campaign says.

Plus size fashion inspiration - pretty big butterflies

What makes the online plus size world amazing is the individuality and how much inspiration I’ve got from this over the years. I’m talking bloggers, influencers and models – all plus size. On platforms such as Instagram. Then there’s the brands, prime example Yours Clothing, who are championing plus size women by using them in campaigns. Opening high street stores and listening to feedback. It’s not easy for a brand to do that.

Last years Yours Clothing launched their ‘Face of Yours’ competition. Giving their customers the chance to model for them and become the face of the brand. Pretty cool huh? They found a really great bunch of women who all have their own individual style and story. Yours Clothing is celebrating this and I think it’s great. Seeing plus size women like myself, looking amazing, feeling confident and glowing is still such a new concept in the media and I’m totally here for Yours clothing and any campaign that they do like this.

Face of Yours Competition

As they launch the #YouAreYours campaign with these fabulous women, it’s only right I’m naturally inspired by what they’re all wearing. They all look amazing and I’ve already added half of what they are all wearing to my basket! But obviously, I’ve copied the look and taken on Yours clothing Khaki trend. This kimono is stunning. It’s comfortable and a great fit. The same goes for the jeggings. I mean, would you even believe they’re jeggings? They look and feel like jeans but have the comfort of jeggings. Winning! I’m wearing a size 26/28 and they are a perfect fit.

You can follow the #youareyours campaign over on Instagram and if you’ve been inspired by these lovely women then stay tuned for the new Face of Yours competition. You could be seeing yourself on that screen!
