When I went to The Curve Fashion Festival in September there was one item of clothing which caught my eye. So much so that I took a picture of it so I wouldn’t forget about it. It was this absolutely gorgeous pussybow pineapple printed blouse from Manon Baptiste at navabi. Seriously, the mustard yellow screams autumn and I could already see myself wearing it to work throughout the whole season. As I am with any type of shirt, I had doubts about the sizing. (Anything chiffon is a nightmare on my large arms!) But as you can see, I didn’t have a problem!
I’m wearing a UK size 28 (I sized up because like I said, the whole arm thing – usually I’d be a 24/26) but the fact I’m also 7 months pregnant meant I wanted there to be enough space for the bump. It’s a gorgeous cut that skims lightly over me and the buttons are gorgeous! Shiny black metal giving a nod back to the vintage times. I love navabi for their amazing quality and attention to detail. When the shirt arrived, even the buttons were individually wrapped to stop them being pulled or scratched. I mean come on… what other plus size retailer provides such service?
Of course I have to applaud the pineapple print. I mean who doesn’t love a bit of pineapple these days?! When I mentioned this shirt no twitter everyone remembered it from the festival as THE pineapple shirt. I obviously wasn’t the only one with my eye on it! I’ll be wearing this a lot over the next few months. With skinny jeans (it lends itself to blue or black jeans which is always a bonus), leggings and tucked into a skater skirt with tights and boots. Even worn under a jumper as the weather becomes crisper. I wore it with some wide fit animal print flats because I love a bit of pattern clashing. I definitely see it as a shirt which will revive itself season after season.. long live the pineapple!
