Cameo got the craziest introduction to Marvel any 2-year-old could possibly experience. Earlier in the year, Cameo got the chance to go along to the launch of the Marvel Live shows in the Disney Store. He had a chance to colour the Avengers on a massive wall (the only chance we’ll ever let him do that!), then try on some Hulk smash gloves, before he actually watched Spider-Man fight the Green Goblin.

Cameo actually found the day a bit overwhelming – it had been a long drive – but it’s going to stick with him for a long time. Before then he had only ever seen Spider-Man on t-shirts and notebooks and things like that, so it was a bit wild being able to see what all the fuss was about.

It wasn’t long after that that Cameo then got the chance to bring the Marvel experience home with him. Funrise was kind enough to send him some goodies that combined his love for anything he can roll around the front room and Spider-Man. Funrise is responsible for all kinds of different big brand-licenced toys for little ones. Their Marvel collaboration for toddlers comes in the form of HERODRIVE, a set of mix and match cars that kids can customise to make their own.

Cameo received a Hulk and a Spider-Man HERODRIVE MOD Squad car, each of which comes with a section of a Caption America car too. He also got a pair of the smaller, non-changeable HERODRIVE Marvel Speed Squad vehicles, which were a very welcome addition to his new daily car park creation ritual.

As our eldest really likes things to go his way, in every single way. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the side of the pavement that he walks on or the channel that we watch on the TV; he likes to have full control over everything. When it came to these cars, it took him a good while to accept that it was OK to remix them. He had plenty of fun putting them together in the normal way, but it took a few days to bring him around to the idea of anything else.

Funrise’s Marvel HERODRiVE vehicles can be found in selected ASDA and Debenhams stores, as well as on Amazon. The MOD cars are £9.99 and the Speed Squad cars are £2.99 and any little Marvel fan is bound to love them as a stocking-filler for Christmas.
