It’s that time of year again when the rain and cold weather starts to melt away into warmer days, easter eggs, and lots of blossoming flowers! Spring is such a beautiful time of year and it’s no wonder that so many couple chose to tie the knot during this season. The dress code for a wedding can be a tricky one to get right. As a guest you don’t want to go for a full-on gown, but neither do you want it to look like you’ve made no effort at all. Here are my top tips for wedding guest outfits this spring.
Dress

It may sound a bit tried and tested, but I’m certainly not getting bored of florals for spring! To add some edge to what can be a tired look, experiment with subtle floral patterns and some exciting cuts of dress. Topshop have a great floral dress which is muted enough to wear to a wedding without looking like you’re trying to steal the show. The cut it so pretty as well and adds some excitement and edge to the usual floral dress.
Trousers

It can feel like you have to wear a dress to a wedding, but this just isn’t the case at all. Jumpsuits and tailored trousers are becoming increasingly popular amongst some wedding guests. Just be sure that you stay on the smart side rather than casual. A pale pink off the shoulder jumpsuit is a great fashion forward outfit for a wedding guest. This bardot style is so popular at the moment and makes for a fun and flirty to a jumpsuit.
Accessorize

If you’re looking to add some extra intrigue to an outfit, accessories are a great addition. For a wedding guest less is more when it comes to jewellery and other accessories. Don’t choose any flashy or gaudy designs, these won’t work with a spring outfit and aren’t appropriate for a wedding. Add a pop of colour to an outfit with some statement earrings. In terms of bags, clutch bags or crossbody bags are the way to go.These not only look great, but give you plenty of room to store some makeup, phone, and other bits and pieces.
Shoes

Shoes are an important addition to any outfit, they can bring the whole look together, or ruin it! Shoes for a wedding guest shouldn’t just be beautiful, they also need to be fit for purpose. A wedding guest is likely to be on their feet all day, and dancing all night! Choose shoes that fit really well and are comfortable. Buy a few weeks before the wedding and break them in- it will be so worth it. For a spring wedding don’t be afraid to wear flats. A great pair of strappy flat sandals can really help to create a bohemian look.
