Bandelettes

Chub rub, chaffing, thigh rubbing, whatever you call it one things for sure, it seriously sucks. As Spring set’s in and the warmer weather heads my way I’ve started to look in my wardrobe wondering what I’m going to wear. I have survived on dresses and pencil skirts through the Autumn / Winter season but I don’t want to give them up because it’s too warm for tights!

But panic sets in because I know if I have to walk for longer than 5 minutes I am cruising for a bruising and my chunky thighs will rub together. It’s horrible! It’s a burning sensation that can literally lead to me not being able to walk the next day or being banned to leggings for the foreseeable future.

I’ve heard of many different solutions but all of which come with another ‘side effect’ which is just as unpleasant for a plus size fashionista! People wear leggings or natural tights under maxi dresses for example. That’s great to stop the chaffing but talk about making me ridiculously hot!

Then there are creams, lotion, potions, talcum powder etc. but NONE of these works for me. If anything I find that they make the problem worse.

Bandelettes

So you can imagine my excitement when I came across these Bandelettes on some American sites. They look perfect. Basically they are lace thigh bands which have 2 rows of silicone which naturally grips the skin and holds them in place. I thought it was too good to be true so I had to give them a try!

My initial reaction was that they are actually quite pretty! So pretty in fact that I wouldn’t mind if a blast of wind exposed them! (You could even put them in the sexy category!) I have the beige pair and they are just like the top of stockings but a bit wider. When I first put them on they did feel a bit weird. But after a few minutes they were easily forgotten about. I did have to keep pulling them up at first only because psychologically I expected them to roll down but they didn’t!

How to stop chub rub

It hasn’t been warm enough to wear them outside yet but I did keep them on all day at home just to see if they worked and they did. I’m genuinely impressed. I think the material obviously keeps the area dry and breathable. You wear them at the widest point of your thighs and hey bingo. No rubbing!

The Bandelettes come in Beige, Black, White, caramel and even red! They cost $14.99 (Currently about £9.00) and they ship to the UK at a REALLY reasonable rate. (Just to add, I received 1 pair and didn’t have to pay and custom or duty fees) and they arrived within a week!

Thigh rubbing

If you want a solution for summer then you need to give these ago. I’m going to buy another pair of nude and a black pair. Bandelettes have helped me look forward to summer!
