Hercules Hercules! Ok, so while I don’t mind ogling over Dwayne Johnson in the new Hercules film, what also caught my eye was the rather gorgeous Grecian style that some of the female characters had, especially their hair. It’s that slightly messy but well put together look that can be worn for work, rest or play.
Generally speaking, I’m a little clumsy when it comes to my hair. Long, straight with a frizzy mind of its own, it doesn’t leave me much to play with. But with a little help from one of my favourite hair care brands John Frieda (who do great products to give my hair a little boost) I have managed to replicate a Grecian princess style look. A braided crown! I kid you not, I am pretty chuffed with it myself (even if it is super simple)!
So not only did I get my creativity from the new Hercules film, but I had a little look around for more inspiration. Sienna Miller creates the look perfectly and her Vogue style file shows her in all her glory. Plus, the lady who can pull off ANY look, Queen Beyoncé sported the braided crown during New York fashion week earlier this year and it looked stunning. Well, if the celebs can do it, so can I!
It really is so simple to do and here is how –
It literally took me 3 minutes and it’s one of those fabulous hair styles that can be as messy or as neat as you like. Perfect for when you have to get up at 6am for work. The Frizz Ease moisture barrier hair spray is great for this kind of style. It helps keep the style in place without turning your hair rock hard. It means if your plait falls out of its bobby pin, you can easily pop it back without your hair turning crispy.
So what do you think? As the Hercules film says ‘Before he was a legend, he was a man’, or in my world ‘Before she was a Queen, she needed a braided crown’.
