I admit it isn’t summer yet but I am yearning for some sunshine! It’s that time of year when people (me!) start thinking about their summer holidays. As a plus size girl, I’ve always struggled on holiday. Shopping for plus size holiday outfits is sometimes depressing! I managed to find a one piece a couple of years ago that didn’t make me feel completely like the elephant on the beach but apart from that I’ve always just thought arghhhhhhh when the warm weather is involved.
But my friends… I have had a revelation and that one piece shall me no more! The same goes for my other holiday clothes that I wore because there was nothing else and my urge to cover up meant I did just that. So… GOODBYE to knee length shorts, leggings and tunic tops while on holiday. GOODBYE to feeling covered up, hot and out of place.
HELLO and WELCOME to my holiday outfits and my summer time fun clothing.
I got my belly out!
I made a vow at the start of the year to be bright and confident with my fashion choices. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, summer is going to be my biggest obstacle. So I thought if I started buying some key pieces now than when the warmer weather eventually comes I’ll be ready for it. Here is what I’ve started with.
Plus Size Summer Trousers – Junarose – £48.00 – Sizes 18-26
These Junarose tropical print trousers are just amazing. I have a bit of a problem with trousers. Camel toe, baggy bums or just a rubbish fit. It’s so hard to find a great pair. Well these are great. Not only are they bang on the Spring & Summer sports lux trend but they have a stunning print.
The trousers are really light and a little floaty but the fit is beyond compare. They are not as floaty as linen trousers but far from clingy. They hang perfectly. This is hard to find on a bigger bum and thigh girl I tell you! I also like the fact that they are quite high rise so they cover a bit of my tummy and –SURPRISE Bikini top alert! Bikini top alert! I kid you not. First time in my life and I LOVE it.
Plus Size Holiday Outfits – I’m ready!
Obviously, I’d need to slide myself in gently so adding this basic white vest top keeps it fresh, clean and is going to absolutely rock a sun tan! I want to click my fingers and be on a beach somewhere right now! I love this outfit. Finally, plus size holiday clothing is actually fun and fashionable.
Sports Lux SS14
On another note… these trousers go up to a size 26. I didn’t find any need to size up. I tried a size bigger because I thought with the material I’d need it. But no… a perfect fit.
Junarose SS14 Collection
My second holiday piece is this dress also from Junarose. In the same sort of beautiful material it has a dipped hemline which I think, for me, is so much more flattering than a maxi dress. It also means I won’t trip up in my flip flops.
Plus Size Beach Wear
It’s another bright floral type print that will look fabulous in the sun. I like the fact that it’s such a flattering cut. It nips in ever so slightly at the waist which isn’t really noticeable but I like how it fits. Perfect on it’s on or I might wear it as a beach cover up over my bikini until I jump in the sea. It’s perfect for any point in summer home or abroad to be honest.
Crotchet Detail
The back also has a nice crotchet details to it (although I wouldn’t like a sun tan in this design!). I absolutely love this. Bright, great fitting clothing that means I can look hot but not feel hot in summer! Hooray! These are what I call holiday outfits and they are plus size holiday outfits! woop!
