I do love a good floral print and when a brand launches a new collaboration or range I just can’t help myself. So when Simply Be announced the second drop from the Jameela Jamil collection I had a sneaky peak and this floral off the shoulder dress caught my eye. I had to have it for summer and I thought the colour palette would work for autumn too… winning!
First up, lets talk sizing. This is the first item I’ve tried from the Jameela Jamil range and I ordered a 26. Usually I’m good in a stretchy 24 so I thought a 26 would be perfect. While it does fit and is comfortable I would say it comes up small and pretty short. I’m 5″6 for reference. So if this dress takes your fancy – size up! The fabric is light but feels lovely and the print is gorgeous. I like that the colours of the floral print were the same as shown on the website, I hate it when it’s a complete different colour!
The dress has a stretchy waistband which makes it comfortable and the same around the bardot neckline. This style of dress seems to be around quite a bit at the moment and I really like it. As the weather warms up I’ll be wearing it with gladiator sandals and my oversized sunglasses… roll on summer!
I’ve seen some people say why is Jameela creating a plus size collection? Well firstly, it’s available in sizes 10-32 and I love that she is an ambassador for body confidence – this quote is straight from her –
“THIS COLLECTION IS ABOUT BEING UNAPOLOGETICALLY DRESSED UP & BEING WHO YOU WANT TO BE WITH CONFIDENCE REGARDLESS OF SIZE.”
