It’s time for another collaboration! Woohoo! I have been so excited about this 2Plus2 post for numerous reasons. You know when you just feel awesome in something… well this is a perfect example. This Carmakoma trench coat is just everything for summer evenings. Just everything. Katie and I decided to do a 2Plus2 post on this jacket because trench coats and macs look fabulous on any body shape and we wanted to show that! Plus trench coats go with any kind of look. I decided to go casual with a Breton striped top and leggings with some fun flats. Katie dressed hers up with a pretty floral number. We think you’ll agree, regardless of the outfit, the jacket just works. I love that classic items like this are finally becoming available in plus sizes.
The jacket is a powdery pink colour, some might say salmon, and I say powdery pink and actually works as a neutral colour. It’s definitely a timeless jacket that I know we can wear season after season, trenches have been here forever and they aren’t going anywhere any time soon that’s for sure. I guess this is a bit of an investment piece and the quality just adds to that thought too.
I love that the jacket has press studs (secure ones that don’t undo by themselves!) so no fiddling around when you’re in a rush; it also has pockets (bingo!) and a tie waist that has lots go length to it. The inside has a satin feel lining which looks quite nice with the sleeves rolled up. It also has an interesting bust overlay piece, I’m not sure if there is a practical reason for this but it adds a cool little twist to it.
We picked up the Carmakoma trench coats from Evans and I’m wearing a 24 and Katie is wearing a size 20. For reference I am almost 5”6 and Katie is 5”5, it’s a perfect length on both of us. What I really liked about this jacket is that you can tie the belt up behind you and wear the jacket open like Katie has done and it still looks fab. I can wear this to work or for an evening out.. It covers all bases!
Like I said, it is a bit of an investment piece at £165 BUT its now on sale at £75.00! It really is a bargain for something that’s going to last a very, very long time.
