Do you ever put on an outfit and think woohoo I feel gooooooood… and then look at a picture or in the mirror and think what the heck?! This is not what I look like in my head. Well, this is how this outfit made me feel. It’s a checked co-ords set from wearall.com and it’s a really great fit. I sized up and it’s just so comfortable. It’s feels so good to wear, especially making it a little edgy with my all white Converse. I felt like a boss. Then I saw the pictures and was like… wow… VBO all in your face. (Visible belly outline for those that don’t know) so I thought if I don’t feel good about myself I’m not going to post it. Then I had a realisation.
I’m not sure what happened, I guess it’s just personal grow and self-love. But I thought to myself today, I felt really good in this outfit. Like I was going to be part of a Beyoncé video or something, you know when you get that fierce feeling. I’m not sure why, it just has it! It’s a really fashion forward style, especially with plus size fashion and I think co-ordinates look great on everyone else. So why not me? I felt great wearing it and as I looked at my pictures, I started to see why I felt that way. I drew my eyes away from the VBO and looked at how the top and skirt was a perfect length, how healthy my hair looks, that my eyebrows are on point and I do have shape!
One of the great things about wearall.com is that their plus size clothing range is affordable and they do some pretty on point pieces. Not everything is to my taste but they do some great swing dresses, in bright bold colours, awesome pencil skirts in gorgeous patterns and lots of other bits that will fit nicely into your wardrobe. Its places like this that I need to keep finding to keep my wardrobe up to date on a budget.
So what did I learn about this post? That if something makes you feel good, wear it. Why should I never wear this outfit again just because my belly isn’t flat? I actually can’t see a reason other than to please other people and you know what? The way I feel right now is that I matter more than people’s opinions. So hello VBO….
