Can you smell that? You must be able to. It’s so clear now. It’s the sweet smell of wedding season! I bet you know one, two or even a handle of wedding dates coming up over the next couple of months. I have two weddings to attend this year (possibly three!), one being my sisters and the other being my bestie – so the dress decision making is HUGE! So, I’m starting my occasion wear search right about now with this absolutely gorgeous dress from Evans. It really is a super lovely dress. It’s one of those you put on and you don’t really want to take off because it just feels so good. Yep, it’s one of THOSE dresses and just so happens would be a perfect wedding guest dress (or any occasion dress to be fair!).
I’ll talk about the fit first of all. When at a wedding or any special event I want to feel comfortable but stylish and this dress is spot on. The sizing is actually really generous. I’m wearing a size 26 but could have sized down to a 24 easily It’s a soft scuba fabric which means it’s really manoeuvrable and doesn’t feel rigid at all so you can sit, dance and eat to your hearts content. While it’s comfortable, stretchy and soft, it still LOOKS like it has structure because of the fit and flare prom style shape. It’s definitely a dress that makes me feel pretty. That’s a nice feeling!
I love the colours of the dress. Really summery and light plus really versatile, the light blues and aquas really let you play with your accessories. I opted to wear it with a white waterfall jacket also from Evans. Because I’ll be a summer wedding I want something light enough for me to carry and wear in the evening once the sun goes down. It’s also a great way of me not getting sun burnt and if you feel a little insecure about your arms which I understand, this is a great option without taking away from the beauty of the dress. You don’t have to wear a natural colour like white, the beauty of the blue hues in this dress mean it works amazing with corals (like my shoes) or any punchy spring colour. Try adding a yellow clutch bag, or pink shoes. It really embraces any of those juicy tones.
Just to add a touch of glitz to the outfit I added a rose gold necklace and matching earrings. There is something about rose gold that just attracts be completely. It doesn’t feel so invasive when you have a busy floral pattern like this and just glistens nicely in the sun with limited effort. Perfect.
If you haven’t worked it out already, I love this dress. It feels like get quality, will be perfect for one of my wedding invites and will make me feel (almost) as good as the bride.
