You might recall a little while ago I had my first bra fitting by Curvy Kate and since then I’ve loved buying underwear and even enjoyed wearing bras. (shock horror!) The thing is, when a bra fits well, it really makes a difference to everything from your posture to your confidence. I know this is true from personal experience. But it seems to be the norm. One Poll surveyed 2,000 UK women aged between 18-34 who wear bras on behalf of Simply Be and their research reveals that 55% of UK women admit that the right fitting bra makes them feel more confident.
So why are we so reluctant to get ourselves measured?

1 in 4 women never get their bust accurately measured. The argument could be that if you’ve never had it, you’ll never know. If you’ve always just had a basic bra and just made do with it, you’ll never know how fabulous the right fitting bra feels. BUT in my own experience I always knew I wasn’t wearing the right bra. I never seem to have the shape that is often shown in lingerie ads or when other women wore underwear. I thought it was a little airbrushing here and there, but after wearing the RIGHT size bra. No airbrushing needed baby! I seriously had to tighten up my dress and suddenly by tummy looked flatter and my boobs looked perkier.
What I think is REALLY interesting about this Simply Be research is these little stats –
Wearing matching bra & briefs was discovered as the top confidence booster (56%)
Wearing a perfectly fitting bra (55%).
Wearing shape wear was selected least (28%),
So why do we all hunt down shape wear to make ourselves look slimmer but feel the least confident when wearing it! If anything, pop on a simple matching underwear set and go get yourself measured. That simple 5 minutes of measuring would give you more confidence then squeezing into a sausage making band of clothing!
