If you follow me OR Simply Be on social media you’ve probably seen all the excitement about their new campaign with ITVBe. Basically they have partnered have up to give you the chance to star in a #simplybe TV ad AND even a styling session. All you have to do is tag #Simplybestylish @simplybeuk on your picture or video and you’re automatically entered. It really is that simple. I did it myself and I was featured on the ad on ITVBe. It was during Dinner Date and obviously I made my family sit though the show until they saw me. Even though I’ve been on TV before it’s still surreal when you see yourself on the screen. This is my TV advert because yes, I saved my 3 seconds of fame. You know you would too!
Amazingly, one of my best friends Michaela also entered by using the tags above and she was also featured on the telebox. BUT, she went one step further and only went and won the styling session and new wardrobe. I kid you not, I was SOOOOOOOO happy for her. I mean what girl wouldn’t want to win that kind of prize? Then she told me that Simply Be said she could being a friend and as we’ve tagged teamed on these things for the past few years she asked if I wanted to go. I wasn’t going to miss a chance to take pictures of my friend getting made over so of course I was happy to take a trip to the ITV studios. Then it got even better, they said the friend would get a style over and new Simply Be bits too. My heart stopped. Seriously, what a dream! I’ve shopped with Simply Be since I was in college, so this was very exciting for me. I know I get to work with them as a blogger and that’s amazing. But to get something like this, almost a gift… is epic!
So Michaela and I went along to the ITV studios, celeb spotting obviously. We were told that Gok Wan and Russell Brand were in the building so we had our eyes and ears open. We were taken to a room that had the most amazing view of London. I’ve lived in London all my life and I’m still blown away. We were presented with the lunch of dreams, I even had to ask if it was all for us. Plus a couple of bottles of bubbles. After we had our fill and got to know the photographer and Simple Be team, we went down to the dressing rooms. Now when I say dressing rooms. I mean THE ITV dressing rooms. Our room was nestled nicely between Kasabian and Lorraine Kelly. I almost wanted to knock on the doors but didn’t want to get Simply Be in trouble.
We were then made up by some fabulous celebrity make up artists. Who were two of the nicest ladies ever. We spoke about everything from makeup (obvs) to babies (obvs again). I wore Doll Lashes in Stephanie and I absolutely love them. Please can someone teach me how to do them myself?
After hair and make up was done we were walked into a large chill out room with a rail of Simply Be clothes and a host of shoes and boots in a range of sizes. The lovely stylist had a couple of pictures of us and had put together some key pieces that she thought we could mix and match. She did a great job and loved how we kind of took our own path in what we wore but with her take on everything. There was no pressure and we could change in a different room at our own pace so we were super comfortable. I left with bags of new clothes and shoes, including a couple of bits I might never had chosen if it wasn’t for the stylist, so it’s always nice to get someone else’s perspective.
Seriously though, a huge thanks you to Michaela, Simply Be and ITV for an amazing day. I kept saying that I felt like I was famous OR a thief being allowed to just choose clothes. No matter what experiences I’ve had through blogging and always totally blown away and even though it takes hard work I’m always so so so grateful. I just can’t believe that Simply Be are doing SUCH an amazing competition.
