This has been the year of swimwear for me. I’ve gone from 0-100 in about 3 months. What I mean is I’ve gone from not even contemplating swimwear to having a drawer full. I’ve realised how gorgeous swimwear makes me feel EMPOWERED! Seriously, wearing swimwear that I love rather than stuff that will ‘hide me’ has made such a difference to my confidence. This Gorgeous DD+ lime butterfly bandeau swimsuit from Debenhams does just that.
Yes bikini are fabulous but there are times when I feel a little more secure in an all in one swimming costume. But gone are the days where I wear what looks like a piping bag and help to sexy and pretty plus size swimming costumes that really do make you feel amazing. Let me tell you about this costume. I’m a size 24 and bra size 40DD. I got the 40DD and It’s a little snug on my body wise but at the same time I feel really secure and actually quite comfortable. It has underwiring and slightly padded cups which I love for the support and I have to say I think it makes my boobs look pretty good! It has a bikini style fastening at the back which I feel like keeps the bandeau back in place and you can wear the straps if you want a bit of extra support. (I prefer that after having an incident on a water slide once where my swimsuit decided to turn into shorts… if you catch my drift!)
The style is really pretty and while it’s eye catching it isn’t too in your face. a really pretty lime and navy butterfly print (not all butterfly prints are bad!) and it has sheer panels which I really really like. Yes it will show your rolls or whatever, but seriously, I feel so amazing in this swimsuit I don’t care. just to add, this swimming costume is super stretchy so it’s pretty good if you’re planning water sports etc.
Something I do tend to do with my swimwear is accessorise it up with jewellery. I (sometimes) take it off when I go in the water but it’s been great for me in my journey of confidence. Maybe I feel like it attracts attention away from the arrears I feel less secure about or maybe it’s just my inner Beyonce coming though. Either way, I love this costume from Debenhams. Plus size swimwear can be pretty awesome, larger bust swimwear can be pretty awesome and all in one swimming costumes are far from boring.
