Believe it or not we’ve officially hit autumn and winter is just around the corner. While the weather can’t make its mind up, I’m well and truly on my way to an autumn wardrobe. It’s my favourite season. Not too hot, not too cold and for me, it when fashion let’s loose a little. Elvi have just launched their Field of Dreams winter collection and it encompasses everything I would expect and more. Fabrics that make you want to touch them without thinking and cuts that aren’t your average. It’s a bit like high fashion within budget. Bet you’d never see that in plus size fashion huh? Don’t get it twisted though, Field of Dreams isn’t a load of floaty florals. Oh no. We’re talking structure with a little movement mixed up up with a wonderlust of fabrics. Yeah baby!
This PU drop hem dress is divine. Firstly, the fabric is soft and stretchy. It’s great quality and is a simple statement piece. I’ll be wearing it in winter layered with a jumper over the top and tights. I can wear it in spring too with trainers. It’s a versatile piece that can be worn night or day. It still has an edge though -I mean it’s a PU dress. It’s never going to be a wallflower outfit is it?

I do love Elvi because I feel like they try and break the barriers of plus size fashion without charging a ridiculous amount of money. I’m wearing a size 26 and it’s a little more snug on the tummy than I would have liked. I think my body shape has changed a bit since having Baby C. There is definitely a VBO (visible belly outline) but who cares? The dress is hot and it makes me feel good. I have a belly…. So does everyone else!
The impressive thing for me about this dress is how the structure stays in place even after sitting down. The drop hem isn’t annoying and actually doesn’t look awkward. The arms are super stretchy too. That’s the only section that isn’t made from PU. I’m 5″6 and the length is just perfect on me. Usually drop hem dresses are way to short but this is totally fine. It’s just above the knee, but like I said, add some thick tights and boots – you’ll be sorted for winter.
This is a fab alternative to a sparkly Christmas dress too, glam it up a bit with heels and a red lip or stick to knee length boots like I did. I tell you what, I feel like all kinds of VA VA voom when I wear this dress down the road!
