I’ve been to The Curve Fashion Festival every year since it launched and I genuinely think it’s amazing. There’s nothing else like it in the UK. A place that celebrates and features plus size fashion when so often it’s hidden away. You may or may not know that I manage the social media for the festival and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. I get to meet amazing people who inspire me and I get a chance to push people behind the scenes to brands for work and collaborations. I know how hard it can be to get brands on board. Sign-offs after sign-offs. But I think it’s incredible that so many fabulous brands take part this year. Some of the biggest names in fashion will be showcasing their curve collections and I CAN’T WAIT!
This year there are over 40 brands heading to TCFF and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. With one of the main sponsors being Debenhams (did you know they do plus size fashion?) it’s going to be epic. Debenhams will be on the catwalk, on the main stage and they’ll be doing bra fittings on the day too! (Last year they were promoting their home and beauty range so I can’t wait to see their lingerie!) Another brand that I can’t wait to welcome (for the first time) is Marks & Spencer! They recently launched a Curve range which I discussed in more detail recently. You can give it a read if you want a more in-depth opinion on fit and cut etc. It’s pretty good but I have to say, don’t underestimate the standard range for sizing. We’re heading into a trend of oversized, slouchy fashion. This works perfectly for me! This printed frill dress is a size 24 from their main collection and it fits me like a dream – even without any stretch! I KNOW!!!!! I feel like a whole new world has just opened up to me and I really want to get stuck in to the M&S collection. It’s incredibly beautiful and their new Holly Willoughby collection is a dream. I think the dress I’m wearing is out of stock but here is an almost identical one. I would suggest sizing down one or even twice it’s that generous. Even on my arms. Woohoo!
Another reason I’m excited for TCFF18 is that there is going to be SO much on! There will be catwalk shows, a How To stage, a beauty hub and of course a huge hall full of fashion. It’s based in Liverpool this year at the iconic St Georges Hall which is a new venue for the event. Everything has a slightly new layout which makes it even more exciting! Plus there will be celebrities, influencers and other famous faces sprinkled over the event. TCFF has had all of these famous names at previous events; Tess Holliday, Nicolette Mason, Charlotte Crosby, Hayley Hasselhoff, Grace Victory, Felicity Hayward, Holly Hagan, Gemma Collins, Bishamber Das and this year won’t be any different!
It’s the place to be if you’re over a size 14 and into anything fashion or beauty related. A safe environment for plus size babes to get together and have fun, experiment with clothes and even get a bra fitting or two. It’s a whole day of fun and I can’t wait for it.
It’s being held on November 17th 2018, 10 am -5 pm at St Georges Hall Liverpool. Tickets are only £15 which I’m pretty sure you’ll get back with all the freebies that the brands tend to give away if you’re lucky. I mean there’s not much you can get for £15 these days. Plus there are tickets bundles that make the prices even cheaper if you’re coming with friends. Winning!
If you’re going, make sure to let me know so I can look out for you! Grab your ticket to The Curve Fashion Festival here.
