If you haven’t seen this prom dress SOMEWHERE in the past 6 months then where have you been!? Well I have admired it from a far for a long time and when I finally had the chance to give it a test run. Well, what can I say. It completely lived up to my expectations.I remember seeing this Scarlett & Jo prom dress at British Plus Size Fashion Weekend and falling in love with it. I literally mean head over heels. In my opinion, it has EVERYTHING I could possibly want in a dress. Let me break it down for you.
Firstly, the prom 2 in 1 style dress makes me feel like I’m dressed up but in a completely wearable outfit. I feel like I’m ready for a wedding but actually I can wear this for work and still look smart and casual. It’s utterly flatting, nipping my in at the waist with the elasticated band and gliding over my hips, bum and tum. It works an hourglass figure like hellllooo!
The three quarter length sleeves are perfect for me as the tops of my arms are my weak point and sometimes I want to feel great without feeling covered up. Tick that box! The scoop neck top is stretchy, comfortable and doesn’t give me the incredible hulk back fat. Tick that box!
It’s a gorgous colour skirt which is lined and is a perfect length on me. (I’m 5″6). so I don’t need to wear this dress with tights. On the negative side, I can’t actually find this dress for sale anymore BUT Scarlett & Jo have a handful of other dresses in this prom style, as well as some prom skirts. The range is available in sizes 14 – 32 and I already have my eye on a few other pieces.
I’ve matched the dress with some gorgeous Simply Be Silver heels and a jeweled statement necklace from Rings & Tings. this is a dress that really wears itself, but I like to add a bit of sparkle.
