I tried to fight it… well that’s a lie. I love autumn and winter so I have embraced coats, jackets and layering probably all too soon for some people liking. I haven’t fought the cooler weather, not even a little. (Now rain would be a different story). The UK weather is funny; you could wake up in the morning and POW! It’s freezing, icy and officially winter. Well I’m prepared with this gorgeous parka coat from Rogers & Rogers at Matalan. I don’t know if it’s just me but the moment I head out to look for a winter coat they are sold out and I feel like I’m left with the lumpy stragglers. Well not this year my friends! The Khaki mixed with the quilted PU sleeves make it a really trendy piece for the colder weather and to be honest, as long as I don’t wreck it, this could be a staple coat for the next couple of years. When do Parkas ever go out of fashion!?
It’s a generous fit in my opinion, I sized up (UK 24) because I want to be able to wear jumpers and layers underneath without being restricted and I have to say the arm space is BRILLIANT! It isn’t often that a coat gets thumbs up from me when it comes to arms, on the width as well as length. I have chunky biceps and it can be a bit of a mission. To add to that, the same goes around the bust area, I have plenty of space and it’s all nicely quilted and cosy.
I love the hood, with its decent faux fur, not the fluffy type that’s sticks to your lips and I actually feel pretty hot in a parka! I have to give it to Rogers & Rogers, they have actually hit the nail on the head for me with this coat. I matched the coat with a simple logo tee that I LOVE, it’s pretty ironic for this post but that’s why I love it. I’m also wearing some super comfy ankle boots from hotter which compliment the coat perfectly. Such a fab combination.
