I would be lying if I said that Mickey Mouse didn’t play a big role in our household. He’s well and truly embedded within our family, and I can’t see it changing any time soon. It started really young and now both of my boys can’t get enough of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and all of their friends. When I say that we can’t escape Mickey, please believe me.

Most of it comes from Cameo (our eldest) but both of them are Mickey mad:

  • Cameo always puts a Mickey cartoon on YouTube whenever he’s got the remote
  • Both boys ask me and Chiino to make their Mickey toys talk all day long
  • Cameo’s favourite letter-practice notebook is a Mickey one
  • Marlo regularly makes Alexa sing Mickey songs
  • They share a Mickey Roadster Racer bath toy
  • At some point before bed, Cameo usually plays a Mickey game on the PlayStation
  • Cameo’s favourite socks are red Mickey ones
  • The above is just one of their Mickey-related fashion options
  • Both of my boys sleep with a plush Mickey in each of their beds every night and the list goes on!

And those are just the things off the top of my head! Seriously, writing it down has made me realise just how much they really do like Mickey Mouse!

So, you can imagine my absolute delight and theirs, when we were given the chance to try out E-I-Oh! Mickey Mouse Feature Plush – a cuddly singing farmer Mickey Mouse that sings “Old MickDonald” on command and does the FUNNIEST dance. It actually makes me laugh out loud just thinking of his funky hip movements. It’s a pleasure to have this new addition to our house and the boys love it too. They’re such big Mickey fans that they can spot a boring Mickey toy a mile off, but this one has been played with so much already (including a little argument or two over who’s turn it is to press his foot to make Mickey dance and sing!)

The boys love dancing with Mickey Mouse and will wave their arms and wiggle their bottoms to copy what he does.  Mickey is dressed in a plaid shirt and overalls so looks the part of a farmer and is super soft, just as you’d expect. He even plays a “What Animal Sound is That?” game where he makes an animal sound and you have to guess what animal it is. (It’s fab when the kids answer back!) The singing and talking are really clear (unlike some toys like this) and the dancing is very robust so it really does look like it’s moving a lot, again, great compared to other toys like this. It’s a great size too, it’s over 40cm which means it’s huge in the eyes of little ones. It also requires 4xAA batteries, but they come included which is fab.

As you can imagine, in a household with two young boys that both love Mickey, there have been a lot of arguments about who gets to have it and for how long. The day it arrived Marlo pleaded with me to let his new Mickey sleep in his bed, asserting that he would make sure that he wouldn’t sing while he had him. Unfortunately, we couldn’t trust him to do it just yet. But when they say that they want them in their bed, that’s when you know they really love a toy!

You can find the new E-I-Oh! Mickey Mouse Feature Plush at Argos for around £60 and is suitable for kids ages 3 and up. Happy dancing!
