It’s probably obvious I’m a bit of a shopper. I’ve always been able to walk around clothes shops for hours not feeling the pain in my feet until I go to pay! (Anyone else get that!) Now I’m engaged and have this little baby bean on the way, it’s changed ever so slightly from strolling around clothes shops to wondering around anywhere that has a home section.. or of course a baby section! There is SO much to look at! Obviously, I bring Mr C along with me. He is definitely obliged to do this now we’re engaged and it’s not just women clothes I’m looking at. Plus this is his baby too… so he has to have a say in SOME of the baby stuff… right?!
I love this research carried out by Andrews Sykes which breaks down what men and women dislike about shopping. I thought I knew what got on Mr C’s nerved but now I actually know. Plus, it gives me a bit of an edge on how to get him to stay out shopping for longer… you like my tactic right? Just look at the first one… 50% of men have waited for over 20 minutes for their parter. I thought 20 minutes was pretty low.. I feel like a terrible girlfriend. (Currently hanging my head in shame)
There’s one thing for sure, some of the changing rooms I’ve been in have been boiling! Especially in winter when they blast on the heating but you’re wrapped from head to toe in scarves, jackets and gloves. I know Mr C hates waiting for me when it’s too hot. He ends up going back outside and then that makes me rush. Talk about ruin the whole shopping experience. (I told you I’m selfish LOL). Plus, being pregnant, I currently get hot super quick which doesn’t help. 48% of men reckon that women take too long trying things on, yep, I’ve confirmed, that’s true!
I think the research is pretty spot on, especially when I compare it to shopping with my partner. So the key to happy shopping is take less time and make it a comfy temperature with the perfect air conditioning. Well I can fix one of them… maybe I could make him walk around with a wireless air conditioning unit? Now there’s a thought.
Do any of these statements ring true for you?
