It’s definitely party season (if you haven’t noticed) and I’ve stepped out of normal go to fit and flare dress in this style post for something a little different. I’m trying a 1920’s inspired sequin flapper dress from M&Co instead! It’s available in sizes 18 – 30 and it has a bit of stretch to the lining. It’s all sequin and fringing which in a way is really simple but it has such a dramatic effect. I wasn’t sure at first but when I put it on I had that little ‘ooooh’ moment and began to twirl around the kitchen… as you do.
What I like about this dress is that it has no fastening, so once you’re in our in and you just have to pull it over your head. I had a tiny bit of difficulty making sure all my fringing wasn’t tucked in but it was so much easier than having to do up a zip with one hand. The lining is stretchy but felt like it was holding me in a bit like a body con and I would say it was a little on the small side so size up.
The reason I usually wear a fit and flare dress is because I like the streamline shape it gives me and how they usually skims over my curves rather than completely hugging them. Let me add, there is nothing wrong with showing your belly or any other curvy outline you have. But my preference is that I like to skim the belly area. The layers of fringe on this dress almost camouflage my belly and the bits I would usually want to skim over while still making me feel… almost sexy. Yay! So it’s a winner for me.
This is a great plus size dress for the party season, your Christmas party or just to have in your wardrobe for your go to party dress. I wore it with flats because the sequins are so sparkly I didn’t need anything to over shine them!
