I popped into Topshop the other day to buy a scarf and ended up buying loads of Nail stuff instead. I don’t know how I do it but I always get distracted!
I haven’t tried out any Topshop Make-Up yet but I knew I wanted to see what their Nail Polish was like so I picked up 3. Good things always come in 3’s…. right?
As we are now officially in Autumn I went for a lovely deep purple called ‘Bomber’ and a gorgeous glitter effect called ‘Mardi Gras’ which I thought would look lovely on top of the purple. I also bought a bottle of white ‘Blank’ nail polish which I am going to attempt some nail art within the next week or two.
The plain nail polish was £5.00; the glitter polish was £6.00. At the time I didn’t think much about it. But looking back, for me, that’s quite expensive for a nail polish that actually comes from a clothing brand. However, some of the colours they had I have to admit I haven’t seen anywhere else. Such as their green overcast Nail Polish. It’s a lovely forest green, great for Autumn.
In terms of the colour, the purple is amazing. Just what I wanted; Deep and Dark. I need to use 2 coats which I don’t usually have to when I use Rimmel or Barry M etc. I also found that the polish wasn’t as shiny as I would have liked and it definitely needs a top coat which I can never be bothered to do!
The glitter polish is lovely. Goes on evenly and the glitter spreads out well. I can use this as a top coat or on its own so not too bad value for money.
I found the Topshop Nail Polish really quick drying which is great for my impatience even after 2 coats and the top glitter layer I didn’t have to wait longer than a few minutes.
In terms of being chip free, it’s about average. Actually, maybe a little better than average. 3 days max before they start looking a little worse for wear.
Overall, the colour was lush and the glitter polish was excellent. I would definitely try the Topshop Nails glitter range again as I know they had loads to choose from. I can get a lot of use from it for £6.00. As for the basic polish, the colour is good but other than that I don’t think its worth the money. Although the colour is perfect, there are other nail polishes which are longer lasting and have more shine for a lower price. Barry M Gelly effect is my best friend at the moment!
Have you tried Topshop Nail Polish yet? What do you think? What colour should I try?
