Even though not everyone is a morning person, life with kids doesn’t give a damn about our preferred sleep schedules, so whether we like it or not, when kids are involved and back-to-school season is approaching, we all need to get on board with the AM programme.

A well-defined morning routine can make it easier for the whole family to get on board and stay on course. Your youngster will feel trusted, safe, and secure when a clear structure is in place. They are able to readily complete tasks because they are aware of what to expect.

Make sure your youngster has a regular bedtime (weekends included)

We must successfully navigate the night with enough sleep before we can take on the morning. Everything is more difficult for kids who lack sleep. We want sleep to be a rhythmic process, with no weekend sleep-catching. Regardless of the time you leave the house, set your alarms for the same time every morning.

Stock up on organising supplies for the house

Consider spending some time examining how the home’s entrance is set up. A seamless morning routine and time-saving preparation are ensured by keeping everything orderly. The easiest method to keep everything organised and in one place is to invest in bins, buckets, and hooks that may be designated for each adult and/or child.

Prepare the previous evening for a leisurely morning

Although mornings can be stressful, you can avoid this by giving yourself enough time to finish everything. Get going the previous evening. Always encourage kids to pack their bags and choose their outfits the night before, giving them more time to review what they need for the next day. Mornings can really set the tone for your entire day, so try to eliminate that frantic, rushing out the door feeling that is all too familiar for most families.

Before you wake the children, adopt a positive frame of mind

It can be difficult to have a happy attitude first thing in the morning, but doing so will benefit both you and your children. Any “mood-ship,” from happy to unhappy or from unhappy to joyful, may always be turned around by parents.

Prepare yourself first

It seems obvious to us as parents that we can get ready while our children do, but rationality doesn’t always apply to parenting. Get up a little earlier than usual, take a shower, and get ready before calling the kids. Pop on your favourite women’s denim jeans which will be easy to slip on and mom jeans are perfect for everyday.

Discuss with children their plans for the following day

For a stress-free morning, it’s crucial to chat to your kids before they go to bed. You might inquire with them about:

What are you looking forward to?

What worries, if any, do you have?

Do you remember what we are doing tomorrow?

How do you feel about that?

You’ll be able to have a smoother morning without worrying about your children if you go over any challenging or interesting subjects with them before bed.
