Exciting News!! I wrote about it in September here and now the time is almost upon us. Next Month, January 15th 2014, Mango are launching their plus size range, beautifully named Violeta.

The Spanish fashion retailer have finally seen the light and want to provide us (in their words) with a ‘Youthful, comfortable, feminine and modern’ range in sizes 12-24. (I wouldn’t consider a 12 plus size, but it’s OK, we are making progress here!)
I’m really excited, as I said in my September post I love the chic, classic Mango style and would love to wear their sharp shapes and lux materials. Their classic designs are perfect for wardrobe staples and I think this is something that the plus-size market is missing. Yes I love colour, adore dresses and skinny jeans. But I want some slick work wear that makes me feel and look as good as the next best city worker.
Australian model Robyn Lawley is fronting the campaign and is an ambassador for plus size fashion and understands the difficult of being larger but still wanting to be fashionable. Mango have already stated that Violeta will start with a 400 piece collection but they won’t let it stagnate. They aim to pull out new products monthly and seem to understand that we don’t want plus size stale clothes. I want to mix things up and I want to mix it up often.
The range will be available online from the 15th January but at the moment, only in stores in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey, Russia and Spain. (BOO!) But those are Mangos top 7 markets so fingers crossed it will edge its way to the UK high street soon. As long as I can access the website, I’m not complaining.
