I swear that one of the best feelings in the world is having a clean face. Not a glimpse of make up or grime. Just completely fresh, clean and glowing. When I give my face a good cleanse I feel like I’m letting it breathe and get some well deserved air. It’s good to be kind to your skin and there are hundreds of face scrubs, cleaners, washes etc. out there but do you know what’s in them?

Most of the time no, but if you buy a face cleanser from Lush then you know EXACTLY what is in there, who made it and when. Quite personal really. So on my recent trip to Lush I bought Angels on Bare Skin. A fresh cleanser for the Face and Body.

Lush Angels on bare skin

The main reason I chose this cleanser above the others is that it is supposed to calm the skin, leaving it toned and bright. I have an issue that whenever I come out of the shower I have blotches all over my face which takes ages to calm down. It could be something to do with how hot I like the water but generally on my face I need a cleanser which will give me a gentle scrub and this sounded perfect.

Crushed almonds face and body cleanser

Angels on Bare Skins main ingredient is sweet ground almonds. You have to take a small pea sized amount of the relatively thick grainy mixture and mix it in the palm of your hand to create a paste. The ground almonds create the milky mixture which is what brightens the skin. Of course the almonds also act as the gentle exfoliate. All the other ingredients are 100% natural.  I love the fact that you can make it as grainy as you like depending how much you turn the mixture into a paste. It’s so easy to apply and you can feel it gently rubbing the skin. Just to add, even though it has almonds, it doesn’t taste very nice so mind your mouth!

100% natural face cleanser

Chamomile Blue and Lavender oils really help to calm the skin down and keep it soft and smooth while the China Klay (Kaolin) is the master in this for me. It absorbs the dirt and grease but in a friendly way. As soon as I start to rinse my face I can feel how clean it is.

When I was growing up my mum always said I know when my hair is really clean because it will squeak in the shower. Well Angels on Bare skin actually makes my face squeak. That is how much of a great cleanser it is. Once my skin is dry my face really is dirt free (unless I have mascara on then its guaranteed panda eyes!) but there are no blotches and I find that any small pimples I might have reduce quite a lot straight after a shower, which is a great bonus.

My face after using angels on bare skin face cleanser

The only down side for me is that this cleanser isn’t rough enough for the rest of my body. I prefer a sugar scrub to really get my dead skin off, but for my face, this is absolutely perfect. It left my face rosy but not blotchy. Super soft and incredibly clean.

It’s £6.35 for 100g but it lasts for ages. As I’m just using it on my face and all I need is a pea sized amount it’s such good value for money. Angels on Bare Skin is one of the friendlies facial cleansers I have used that gets my face squeaky clean.

Perfect for greasy pores and sensitive skin.
