I have been looking for a picture to put on my front room wall since we moved in. Its literally a blank canvas and although there are a million pictures of a million things it’s so hard to decide.
This is the exact reason why I have not yet got myself a tattoo. Although I would love one, the decision is too hard. Finding the ‘one’ is near impossible. I will invest my money (or body) in choosing a piece, and I know, I just KNOW that the next day I will bump into something even more delicious. (Or a tattoo that is better than mine!)
So what do I do?
Well, I decided on creating my own canvas. I have the canvas pieces in my bedroom waiting for me to exhibit my artistic side and come up with the perfect picture to plonk on my wall. Creativity has failed be so far and alas! the canvas remains under my bed. Maybe I could create a unique piece made form dust? Now there’s a thought.
On a happier note, I came across this gorgeous picture while doing a bit of window shopping in Next. My life has always referred to butterflies in times of expression, hence by blog name. This lovely piece seemed to fit quite right. It’s a little smaller than I would have liked, but my sofas are grey, black and silver so it matched it perfectly.

The silver butterflies make me feel as though they are morphed in crystals, creating an image to remind me that I am a butterfly in the simplest form. Enough of the poetical justice, I just love it because it’s so darn pretty. The butterflies are printed on vinyl which gives it a lovely sheen and a metallic quality. It was also a bargain at £15.00!!
So for now this is staying. It caught my eye and plucked my heart strings. That is probably until such time I go window shopping in Next again!
