On Sunday 6th March I turn 30 and it’s a really interesting time of my life. I hear people whisper their ages to each other in hope that they don’t get told they’re too young to be wearing that dress, or too old to be wearing that cardigan. You all know I’m a body positive ambassador and I think the same should go towards age. Dress size is just a number right? Well… so is age. To celebrate my 30th I’ll be working with some fab brands to show that fashion at thirty, and any age can be amazing. Just be confident and wear what you love.
My first blog post in this series is with the ever evolving Evans clothing. Once known for somewhat drab pieces, they’ve now upped their game and I was really impressed on my last visit to the Marble Arch store last week. I’m so in love with this outfit, so in love that I’ve worn in twice in 3 days! It’s a classic example of Spring chić, but I’ll be wearing this even if it snows next week.
I really have to congratulate Evans on their ultra stretch skinny jeans. These fit like leggings (as in they are super comfortable) but look and feel like jeans. They are pretty generous in size and come in difference leg lengths too. I’ll be going back for more of these. I’m wearing the blue mid wash shade but there are a couple of others to choose from. They don’t bag and they are actually ‘skinny‘ round my ankle. Really great pair of plus size skinny jeans and they are available in sizes 14 – 32. They are pretty high waisted and have lots of stretch.
The ivory sheer top I’m wearing is one of those must have wardrobe staples. It’s comfortable, fits well and is a basic block colour but doesn’t look so basic. The fabric is lovely with the front being a soft stretchy jersey and the back being a woven fabric. It’s so simple and will go with so much. With the tan waist coat over the top I feel ready for anything. This is an all day, every day kind of outfit and I instantly feel well put together. I think because it all fits so well, I feel really on point. There’s a lot to be said about feeling great when something fits well. Being plus size, it almost feels like a luxury when you get good fitting clothes, especially if you need to size up, so I’m pleased Evans is sticking with its 14-32 range.
I am in love with these grey, suede loafer style shoes. They are extra wide fit too meaning they don’t squash my feet. yay! The while sole makes it super fresh for summer, but I know I’m going to wear them out by then so I’ll have to get another pair. They are so comfortable, they feel like slippers but look as fashionable as heels. They have had so much attention in the last few days I’m planing on grabbing the navy pair as soon as pay day comes back around.
This outfit can be worn by women of any age. It’s such a versatile look but feels super fashionable. I love it when I feel great in an outfit, I want to wear it again and again. Plus, being comfortable is just as important and this outfit ticks all of those boxes. I love the fact that people assume blogger are really young, yes some of them are, but the old fashion thing doesn’t stop at 18, 28 or even 68. It keeps on going as long as you want it too. Never feel obliged to dress a certain way. Make yourself feel good.
