Sometimes the description of a piece of clothing doesn’t do it justice. If someone had asked me if I wanted a tunic dress with a feather print and tie waist, I probably would have cringed a little and said thanks but no thanks. It has that old fashioned, unflattering sound to it. But, after seeing this dress at British Plus Size Fashion Weekend my opinion did a complete you turn!

There is a force to be reckoned with in the shape and style of Scarlett & Jo. A plus size range that is aiming to be fashionable but give us some brilliant shapes when it comes to clothing. They are currently an exclusive concession at Evans but I’d love for them to go it alone soon and have an outlet either online or on the high street.

Feather Print Tunic Dress

This feather print tunic dress is literally gorgeous. First of all the fit it great, I ordered a 22 (my usual size) and found it to be quite generous. The material feels lovely against the skin and the chiffon top layer creates what I would call ‘the illusion of a smooth silhouette’. It is definitely one of those dresses which makes you feel great no matter how you get up in the morning.

I’m not usually a fan of tie waists but it really works on this piece. It loosely brings in the waist creating that hourglass look and it does serve a purpose rather than just being an annoyance that keeps coming undone! Well done to Scarlett & Jo who have made the tie long enough to actually tie in a bow! Simple things make such a difference!

Scarlett & Jo dress from BPSFW

I’m 5”6 but I’d definitely wear it with tights for work or a daytime look. I’d probably wear it without tights in the summer too with more sun-kissed legs and some pretty sandals .

Sometimes prints are a bit hit or miss in my opinion especially on tunic style dresses, but this feather print works. It‘s bright and I like it’s higher up on the tunic rather than all over. It’s enough details without it going overboard and draws the eye downwards. I like their tactics!

Tunic Dress Plus Size

It looked great on the model at BPSFW and I’m not disappointed. It’s a great all season dress, dress up or dress down. It’s available in sizes 14-32 and is currently £40.00. Take a peak here. I already have another Scarlett & Jo dress on my radar!
