Yesterday evening was the the launch for the new Gok Wan Shapewear range at Simply Be. You know that SPECIAL underwear that makes your bangers perk up and your belly tuck in? yes… I agree, they are amazing creations.
The launch was hosted at the glamorous Covent Garden Hotel and I was surrounded by fellow fashion and beauty bloggers, fashionistas and generally beautiful women! We were treated to tasty canapés and complimentary cocktails. My cocktail of choice was the bright pink cosmopolitan which was so Delicious even Gok had a sip from my glass. Of course I was willing to share!
The reason we were there was obviously to check out the Shapewear. The first thing which I noticed about the range was how attractive it was! I have seen many a figure flattering item but ones that are so old fashioned I was almost embarrassed to wear them even if only I knew what they looked like and comfort didn’t exist.
While I had a chatter and a gossip with the other ladies, we raised some points about what we want from shaping underwear and what our past experiences have been like. The overall opinion was that we want to feel attractive when the ‘magic clothing’ is hidden but if we happen to expose our undergarments for whatever reason, we don’t want to look like a raw sausage about to burst at the seam! We want Shapewear to LOOK good as well as make us FEEL good.
Gok Wans range does this with sultry colours, simple dog-tooth designs and a delicate use of soft flattering material. It seems as though he has really digested what women want and understand how important a little help can be when it comes to feeling fabulous.
This purple underwired bodyshaper was one of my faves. I love the colour and the material felt lovely and soft. Not the itchy sweaty sort that drives you crazy! It has a built in bra which should make it comfortable and give a lift to the bust and the straps are detachable so it can go with any outfit. I had a look on the Simply Be Website when I got home and this gorgeous item is a really very reasonable price at £36.00. I might have to make a cheeky purchase!
