With only a few days to go until Valentines Day you might already have your outfit planned for that special date. But what about your shoes! Shoes can make or break an outfit (which is why I have so many… obviously!) so it’s worth taking the time to choose the right ones. There’s a lot to consider, from comfort to style. But if you really can’t decide, Deichmann recently carried out some research and the results will definitely help you put your best foot forward on your next date. With that research in mind and my own personal taste, I’ve chosen my top 5 date night shoes.
(From let to right)
The traditional high heel is always a date night winner. These cut out peep toes have a contemporary look so no matter how simple your outfit, these shoes will bring the glamour. The survey carried out by Deichmann showed that a female partner wearing high heels impressed 56% of men. So, that’s one way to impress your male date. However…
Leading me nicely into the gold ballerinas. Heels are fun and everything but not if you’re uncomfortable! One person who responded to the survey gave this anecdote – “I tried to walk very elegantly in heels that were too high, lost my balance and ended up on my bum, very embarrassed and feeling stupid.” You can keep it fashionable and glamorous with some metallic flats like these. No need to look out for wonky pavements!
I love these taupe ankle strap sandals. They stand in the high heel category but the block heel isn’t only on trend, but makes it so much easier to walk. The extra support means your feel will hurt less and therefor you can enjoy your date more. Plus the color is a neutral base so work them with any outfit.
Everyone should have a pair of court shoes in their wardrobe. The perfect mid heel (heels that are too high came in second and third as the biggest turn offs) and a simple design means they’ll compliment any date outfit. These pink courts are a gorgeous colour and perfect for Valentines Day pinks and reds.
Last but not least, for super fashion points (and warmth in this chilly weather) these block heeled Chelsea boots are the total winners. Make sure they are clean and looking fresh though as 50% of people described scruffy or dirty shoes on a woman as their biggest no-no.
Obviously the key of any date night outfit is to wear what makes you feel good and if the other person doesn’t like it maybe they don’t deserve a second date. At least you’ll have good shoes, that’s always worth celebrating!
