Has anyone else noticed that the UK seems to have forgotten the monthly rules when it comes to weather? I mean APRIL is for showers OK? April is umbrella season OK? Not August. August (incase you’ve forgotten) is for sun; warm evenings with a chilly dusk and sunglasses weather. But, as the weather fairy has obviously been a bit confused lately I’m finding solace in the fact I could actually wear some new boots today and walk without fear of puddles or broken paving.  These extra wide fitting boots from Curvissa are really generous and actually fit with NO issues. I’m a fan.

Pretty Big Butterflies - Wide Calf Boots

These leather boots come in a XXL calf fit which goes up to 55cm. I’ve tried to take pictures of the back so you can see it’s one large stretchy panel but as it’s the same colour as the rest of the leather boots it works perfectly without looking out of place. The 1.5 inch heel is perfect for me as I’m not a huge fan of heels in wet weather (for obvious reasons!) and the width fitting of the foot is also pretty generous. I am a size 7 and easily could have worn a size 6 if the 7 were out of stock. I like this as when my feet are warm they expand and it means these boots wont restrict my little toes.  I tend to find knee length boots really hit and miss. I usually need to really stretch and hope for the best when zipping up and it usually means I can only wear tights and dresses because the leg is THAT snug. But these boots have so much stretch I can wear leggings or even jeans with them which means they are going to be a summer staple. Especially with all the browns, burgundy and burnt ash colours coming in for autumn and winter.

As with most leather boots they are comfortable but will need a bit of breaking in and once they get that worn look they’ll still be on trend for every autumn that they last and believe me, I think these boots will last. As it’s still mild just very wet, I teamed mine today with an Alice & You tunic top (it’s supposed to be a dress but it’s WAY too short for me) and some basic leggings. Super comfortable but I’m loving the cognac colours.

I’d say these boots get a 4.5 out of 5. They are almost perfect apart from the quite large feet, but like I said, nothing to worry about. They are a winning pair of boots because of the super stretchy back. I’m confident these will fit you’re calf no matter what size they are.
