Stepping away from fashion and beauty for a hot minute I had to share this with you guys.
As much as I love fashion and beauty, music is one of my passions. Without it, life wouldn’t be complete. I don’t stick with one genre. Although my heart belongs to RnB & UK Garage, I listen to everything from One Direction to Skepta.
Growing up in the 90’s. The Garage soldiers So Solid Crew ruled my life! A couple of them lived near me and when their music exploded on to the airways I was one of their biggest fans. I knew every lyric to every song. So yes I did see them at Londons Indigo2 a few months back and yes I did freak out and went CRAZY!
After their recent tour they said they they were not doing any more new music – just a greatest hits album and that was it. But OH NO! (Get it? if you know So Solid then you will) they have just released a new single! – as in TODAY!
So Solid Crew – UK Hot Wid It
My Opinion
This is definitely a more relaxed So Solid Crew Track compared to the recent Megaman & Skepta combo, or even the track Megaman contributed too on Wileys album. It’s obviously an attempt at bringing in a new wave of fans and reaching out to the younger generation. Why not? Its the younger kids that make things fresh, just like So Solid Crew did about 12 years ago.
Its a simple, easy to listen to track – a mash up of music styles catering for most people. It isn’t the garage routes that they started but I don’t begrudge them for that. They have already proved themselves. They don’t need to do it again. It’s definitely going to get airplay and with snippets of familiar faces… Romeo (aha… Romeo indeed!) the old fan will be happy and the video itself is quite funny. Check how the babies fill up their bottles at the bar! Party Hard!
So enjoy the track and have a little skank in your front room and remember – The Uk Hot Wid It! 🙂
