THE THEME FOR TODAY IS PRETTY AND PUNK!
I found this theme quite difficult! Don’t get me wrong, I have A LOT of black in my wardrobe. Probably a bit too much if I’m honest. But the theme ‘Pretty Punk’ was new to me. I know it consists of studs and edginess, but did I have any of that? Not really? The pretty part, well I could try and work with that!
I have bought a couple of items which fits in with the new punk trend for Autumn / Winter. Including Tartan and monochrome. But they haven’t arrived in time for this challenge.
So I opted for a black dress with a lace collar from ASOS Curve. The dress is quite feminine and I think the lace is pretty but in an edgy way.
That is the worst punk pose ever, but feel free to humor me! I have attempted to only put outfits up on the blog which I would actually wear… not just for the purpose of showing an outfit or a trend. I want it to be real to me and true to myself.
Now I was unsure about this with just the dress, I love the dress and have worn it alone. But to cover the theme pretty punk I felt like it needed something else. Especially as I would wear it of an evening going out. So I added the jacket. Beef it up a little! The leather jacket is from Dorothy Perkins and I think its add a little more roughness to the outfit and finishes it up.

I did do something a little different and wore bright red lipstick and dark eyeliner. Not usually my thing. It looks AMAZING on other people but I felt a bit Adams Family, however, when I saw the pictures I really liked it! One great thing about these challenges is that it gets you to experiment and realise that some things really look alright if you try it out!
The jewellery ‘punked’ it up a bit with a studded bracelet and stud earrings. Both from Primark. I love the earrings! The necklace which is adorable is from Sister Vintage – a lovely pick cross on a gold chain. This definitely added a touch of pretty punk!
Overall, I think it meets the brief a little, I struggled to find anything punk enough but I think the finishes touches gave it a subtle punk undertone! 🙂
