When I started blogging I didn’t realise there was a whole host of opportunities and experiences that could happen. The Curvissa Curve Project on Saturday was one of those days.
Curvissa (a relatively new plus size brand – they’ve only been around for 2 years!) got together with The Curve Project London to host a fantastic day showing off their Spring Summer collection but also embracing body confidence and giving some bloggers a great day out!
We were literally told to pack a bag of essential model type stuff and jump on the Curvissa ‘plusport’ ready for a day of catwalk training, make overs and chit chat. I wasn’t disappointed.
First of all it was great to have so many plus size bloggers in one place. The atmosphere was so relaxed and friendly that we didn’t mind stripping off in front of each other to try on the new pieces from Curvissa. Believe me I was pleasantly surprised at the collection and I love their Tropical trend. The bright colours drew me and I thought I might as well go out in a bang and be as bright as possible! I chose a Cerise peplum top which is from Lovedrobe (now being stocked at Curvissa) and a pair of tropical print harem trousers. Becca from The Girl With The Plait also chose the tropical trousers and they were ridiculously comfortable! Forget leggings, these are going to be mine in the summer with some strappy sandals. Becca and I have already decided these are on our purchase list for Summer.
We all had our make-up done and also our hair styled. (Just to name drop, the hair stylist also does Cheryl Coles hair! I knew I was in safe hands). We were then catwalk trained by the hilarious Les, who, for want of a better word was probably more dramatic than the professional models he coaches. The tips I remembered from the catwalk training were belly button in, head up and swing those arms with a smile. Sounds easy… believe me it was hard work!
We were all then given a professional photo shoot which I found hilarious. My normal pose went out the window and my limbs were out of my control! BUT I think I did ok for my first time. When the pictures come back, I’ll you know!
The Curve Project London is founded by Saffi Karina, who is absolutely stunning, above that she was so friendly and welcoming that you couldn’t help but be drawn to her. She was a professional and really tried to help everyone relax and enjoy themselves. Not that we needed much persuasion. With prosecco and cupcakes on constant supply we were all pretty happy…!
Overall a great day, thanks to Curvissa and The Curve Project London for a fab experience and an exclusive look at the new High Summer 2014 collection.
