Ever since the River Island plus size range dropped I’ve been a fan for so many reasons. River Island is definitely somewhere that’s always on trend but in such a classic way. I feel like they offer on trend pieces that stand the test of time. Take this beautiful black lace dress that I featured on the blog previously. It’s STILL in my wardrobe and I still wear it. It was super fashionable at one point to have the whole lace thing and tired skirt thing going on, so it was on point for that. But generally speaking, it’s my version of a little black dress that will always come out to play. It makes me feel good.
To be honest, whenever I wear River Island Plus it makes me feel good. I think it comes from the good cuts and the on point sizing. Well I’m pleased to say that the range is still doing itself justice. With extensions from the main range (that’s don’t cost more just because it’s from the plus collection) River Island are doing pretty damn well. I just want more and more and more. I think they have so much potential and it’s obviously a popular range because it sells out so quick. The range has definitely cemented itself in the plus size fashion game.
This outfit reflects everything I already thought about the range and I’m super chuffed to give their denim a try for the first time. I was a bit apprehensive as denim is always a tough one right? So first up these jeans are super skinny, which makes them a little on the snug side and not high waisted. However, they are really comfortable and don’t dig in when I sit down, even after a massive Nandos they were really comfy. What I’m really impressed with is the ankle of these jeans. It’s elasticated so you get that proper skinny look and they don’t turn into straight leg jeans at the last minute. A little details that makes a big different. If you’re in between sizes – size up on the denim. If not, stick to what’s regular for you. I’m wearing a 26.
Red is the colour of the season and I can’t get enough to be honest. This lace up back top is a loose fit on the body but true to size on the arms. It’s a woven fabric with no stretch to it and sits really well. I love this top because worn under a leather jacket it’s the perfect daytime look, which can be easily converted to an evening look with heels and jewellery. It’s a gorgeous bright red and I love it. The deep v-neck is just right in terms of depth and the lace up back isn’t annoying and it doesn’t come undone by itself. The sleeps are that cool longer length that makes you feel like you’re on the edge of being edgy… you know what I mean! It’s a simple top with a twist and perfect for party season!
Another winner from River Island! I’m so pleased they extended their sizing to a 28, I just want them to extend their selection because it sells out SO quickly. If you see something you love grab it because it won’t be around for long.
