There’s nothing like a new dress to put a smile on my face. So even though I was totally flu ridden on new years day I put my new babydoll floral dress on, my first faux fur stole and went along to my family dinner. I have to say my new dress did perk me up a little. This Simply Be number is viscose with a tiny amount of stretch to it and I opted for the ‘Tall‘ version. I don’t actually come under the ‘Tall‘ definition but sometimes I find babydoll dresses come up a little short. I’m really pleased I did as this length is perfect for me. It’s a really soft and light day dress which are my absolute wardrobe go-to when I’m in a rush, a pickle or just don’t know what to wear. It’s available in sizes 12-32 and I would say it’s very true to size.
I finally tried a faux fur stole and I love it! I don’t know what took me so long. I’ve always thought I would feel a little too over the top with one of these and I wasn’t sure that it would go with my regular collection of floral dresses. But it does! This one if from New Look and it’s super cosy and kept my neck and chest warm. I think it’s one of those accessories you just need to try. I’m really pleased I did!
Finally, are once again my wide fit ankle boots from New Look which I love. I am massive ankle boot fan and these ones slide on and off so easy. They are pretty sturdy too and considering they are wide fit they still have a great shape to them. I’m an ankle boot addict I swear.
So my New Years Day outfit went down well with the family and my mum would have stolen the stole from me if she has the chance. I don’t tend to dress up for these occasions as my family are really relaxed, but like I said, nothing like a new dress to put a spring in my step.
