Now I have an almost 1-year-old, sometimes I wonder what I used to do all day. I feel like I have such little time that before I had Baby C I must have just wasted hours! So one of the things that really makes me happy is when I find a super simple outfit that makes me feel great and look good. You know something that’s minimal effort, get on and go kinda thing. Well, these Missguided plus denim shirt and Simply Be ankle boots do just that. I was really surprised when I tried the Missguided shirt. It’s a 24 and doesn’t have any stretch so I thought there was no chance it would fit let alone be worn as a dress. But surprise surprise, once again, your dress size is just a number! Not only does it fit, but it fits well! I guess the shirt is oversized, but that works for me. I’d say, if you wanted to wear it as a dress, get your normal size or even size down one if you don’t want to drown in it. But for me, a size 24 was perfect. Even in length.
I’m a big fan of distressed hems and I love the edge it gives to this shirt. It’s also a perfect wardrobe addition if you love layering. Pop a jumper over the top, wear it over a polo neck and ripped denim, wear it as a shacket…. the list goes on. What’s even better, a denim shirt NEVER goes out of fashion. So this is a wardrobe investment for sure. It doesn’t matter how old or worn it gets, it just adds to the style. You can’t get better than that from an outfit right? I’d also say that the arms are pretty generous too, so great if you usually struggle like me!
The only down side is that it does need a quick iron, booooo! But there are so many pros to this dress I don’t mind giving it the quick once over with an iron. I’d happily live in this shirt dress with thick tights and ankle boots. These stud wide fit ankle boots are super comfortable and I love the simple studd design, they go with anything and everything. The block heels means they aren’t a mission to walk in and once again, they’re definitely a pair of boots that you’ll wear again and again. These are from Simply Be and they come in a gorgeous grey colour too.
This really is a great example that if you fancy keeping it simple, you can still look and feel great. Sometimes it’s the simple things!
