Last week I went along with my partners in blogging crime Lucie and Nicole to the Balance Me Skin Scanning event in Debenhams Oxford Street. It was an intimate get together to learn about what Balance Me is all about, to try some of their lovely products and to get a skin test done to see what products would benefit my skin.
I have come across Balance Me Beauty products in my past beauty boxes and I have always been impressed but never really looked into them as a brand. As relatively new company founded by sisters making skin care products at home, I love a story like this that really represent strong female entrepreneur. It’s inspiring for me. Along with this comes the really positive message that Balance Me Beauty has, which is all about body confidence. They believe that products should be natural, luxurious, affordable and make you feel great, regardless of whom you are. Sounds right up my street!

We were treated to bubbly and strawberries and it was really nice to get to know the brand a bit more. I also had my skin scanned which showed me I am a little dehydrated and need to focus on moisturising around my hair line and under my eyes. Always nice to have an expert tell me what’s going on, beauty and skin care is sometimes a guessing game.
I started with the Balance Me Super Toning body wash when I got home. It’s an invigorating body wash and considering its sulphate free it actually bubbled up quite well. I love a foamy body wash! The aromas from the essential oils were really strong in the shower, especially of juniper and lavender. I’m personally pleased that the fragrance doesn’t last that long because while I love them in the shower, it’s not the sort of fragrance I generally like to waft around in. This body was has JUST launch so I felt quite special giving it a go. After using this a few times I can say that my skin feels incredibly smooth and soft. It has that super clean feeling to it and I find that I tend to feel that way when I use 100% natural products. Because they don’t dry my skin out as much and it feels more nourished.
I have used the Super Toning body oil twice since last week and it has the same essential oils as the body wash but the fragrance hangs around a little longer. Immediately my skin felt smooth and soft, but surprisingly it didn’t have a greasy after math like some oils, which is usually the reason I tend to not use them very often, but as this doesn’t happen, I reckon it will become a bit of a hero for me. The only thing I found is after applying, although my skin felt amazing (especially my elbows!) my hands were a little dry from the application. But, I also found that this body oil gave my skin and nice and healthy glow so I don’t mind the dry hands bit. Perfect for getting my legs out in the warmer weather! As for toning qualities, I have only used it twice, but it hydrates the skin so well, I can see it naturally making your skin feel renewed.
It was a great evening and I am impressed with the Balance Me products because they do actually work and I can feel the difference on my skin compared to the bog standard shower gel or moisturising cream. Using products like this definitely help towards body confidence, if my skin feels amazing, it gives me a little bit more va va voom that day. I understand why they have won so many awards because they really are quite fab!
