If you follow me on twitter (and if you don’t you can follow me here!) then you will know last weekend I attended the Anti-Ageing Health & Beauty Show 2014 in London Olympia. I had such a good time I went along with my lovely friend Nicole from The life of a beauty addict on the Saturday. I was really excited about the show and did a little pre-show blog post here.
When we arrived I was surprised at just how big the event was. There were rows and rows of exhibitors and the range was incredible. As we walked around I saw everything from people having their hair curled to their teeth whitened. The buzz was really apparent and it was a fun and friendly atmosphere.
There were so many brands at the event, familiar and new. Every stand had a professional with a world of knowledge and was more than happy to provide samples, information or just a chat about what’s best for my skin or hair. It was nice to be able to leisurely walk around, stopping for presentations or a bite to eat. (Of course Nicole and I had to stop for a posh pizza to rejuvenate ourselves and we had a little read of Harper’s Bazaar magazine!)
I was impressed with the quality of the stands as well. I didn’t feel as though everyone was a salesperson forcing me to buy magic lotions and potions. Most of the stands truly believed in their products and let them speak for themselves. That’s the way to win people over in my opinion and they had the balance just right.
I had some highlights of the day which I’ll share with you and over the coming weeks I’ll have some reviews of individual products and brands once I’ve given them a try.
The biggest highlight had to be meeting the stunning Linda Lusardi, former model turned actress and presenter. She now has her own skincare range at Ideal World which I had a little look over at the event and I’m genuinely impressed. The ingredients are that which you would find in REALLY high end products such as glacier water and caviar extract. We even had a chance to film a couple of minutes for Ideal World themselves which was a nice memory of the day.
I also had my collagen levels tested at the Gold Collagen stand. I was a little apprehensive as no one wants bad news! But I thought what the heck? Collagen levels for my age (28) should be between 40 & 60. So I gave it a go and… (Drum roll please)…. I was between 50 & 60! The higher end of the scale! I asked if it was genetic but she was sure that the biggest factors are the normal things such as water and diet. No comment… let’s just stick with the fact that I may not age that quickly. Hooray!
I then had my hair curled a little by Aria Beauty who use infra-red technology to style the hair with no heat or damage. Before we left I had my eyebrows done by Perfect Products. It was quite good actually because they used a stencil and basically brushed the powder over my eyebrows and they were done in 60 seconds with a massive difference.
Some of the new brands or products I haven’t tried before that really caught my eye were Rajeunir Beauty, a family company that really want to make natural anti-ageing skin care approachable. Amargan hair oil therapy were really lovely in giving me some advice with how to manage my every greasy but dry at the ends hair and I can’t wait to try some of their hair products. Ginvera had an amazing facial exfoliator that basically made the dead skin on hand literally peel away. Skin Pep has some really in depth anti-ageing products which I’ going to research. Like I said before, I really want to start looking after my skin before it’s too late. One brand which I can’t wait to try is Su-Man. I have a face care regime set from her which is full of active ingredients. She has worked with high list celebrities on their face care so I don’t mind at all if she wants to take care of mine too!
Neals Yard was also there in full force and I have already decided I’m going to purchase the Organic Virgin Coconut oil. In can be used for ANYTHING from cooking to hair. I mean, you can’t get a more versatile product than that!
Over all I had a great day. Nicole and I had such a giggle and it was nice to have so many brands in one place dedicated to beauty, mind, body and health. It didn’t matter what age you were, there was something for everyone. From products to beauty tips. I spent longer there than I thought I would but there really was so much to see. I’m looking forward to the Anti-Ageing show 2015.
Thank you to the Anti-Ageing Show team for a great day, the atmosphere was amazing and it was a great success.
