If any of my friends plan on having a little interior revamp, they always head to Instagram to see what the latest trends are. To see what the big interior brands and to look at what influencers have in their home and to look for hacks to make theirs look the same. (or as close as possible!) I’d be lying if I said I didn’t do the same but unfortunately my home isn’t quite Instagram friendly but we’re getting there. Picture frame, by picture frame! So what are the top Instagram interior trends for summer? Here’s a little list to save you the thumb ache of scrolling and scrolling for what seems like days. I know, you can thank me later.

Hanging Plants
Let’s start with a really simple, affordable and quick one shall we, so you can get the ball rolling almost immediately. Hanging plants are everywhere, literally. From the bathroom to the kitchen, hanging plants are one of the most on-trend interior things making waves on social media right now. Super affordable and with hardly any effort, find a plant, pop it in a hanger (loads of places do them now) and the job is done. 10 out of 10 for effort.

Kitchen Island
Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean a holiday, but it does mean having one of those super cool kitchen Islands where you make perfect salads and banana bread. It might look like something the rich and famous have but if you’re considering redoing the interior of your kitchen (hello, kitchen cupboard door replacements), you should definitely consider having one. They’re pretty practical as well as easy on the eye – yes you need the space but I’m sure we can swap our bedrooms for a super-sized kitchen!

Lantern Roofs
Have you noticed that some of your favourite influencers seem to have a home that almost looks like it’s outside because it’s full of natural light? They probably have lantern roofs to thank for that. Amazing lantern skylights work great on house extensions, conservatories and orangeries. They bring so much light in and are a great idea if you’re looking for replacement aluminium windows during your interior revamp. It’s all about maximising the natural light that comes into the house and making it look good too.

Bar Cart
Another pretty easy one to do is to introduce a bar cart to your living space. I don’t really drink so this isn’t one for me, but lots of people have them. A super sassy looking modern bar cart, usually in some kind of metallic and white, nestled around some plants with some fancy glasses or bottles on. That sounds about right. It’s great if you’re an at-home entertainer and always looks good in shots for social media.

Freestanding Baths
If you’re planning a bathroom renovation, you have to include a freestanding bath If you want it to be Instagram worthy. Pretty much a fact. I mean, they are beautiful (although somewhat small!) and they make a good bubble bath shot! I mean, if you’re going to do it, you might as well do it properly, right?
