One of the things I did last year with my baby boy was start baby swimming lessons. (For him, not me!) It was one of the best things we’ve done together and the bonding really is priceless to be honest. Unfortunately we had to stop because he was really poorly for a long period of time and he couldn’t go to his lessons any more. We were gutted but I’d definitely like to take it up again at some point this year. He loved it, we both had some exercise and it gave us something to do together. It may sound silly but I felt like a good mum! But I have to say; I was SO unprepared for what I needed to take. Not even for Baby C (that’s a whole other post coming soon!) but for myself! I’ve had a look around Simply Swim who do everything from plus size swimwear to swim nappies and they are a key player in the swimwear market, it’s like a one stop shop for your swimming needs! If you’re planning on taking your baby swimming this year, upping your own swim time or even learning to swim yourself, here are my swimming essentials to help you out.
First up, this Women’s Speedo Sculpture Crystal Gleam One Piece Swimsuit is gorgeous! It’s part of their plus range and it has tummy control and bust support so great if you want a little structure to your swimsuit. The colours are just lovely aren’t they? One thing you’ll definitely need, although you might not think so is a good pair of goggles. If you’re taking your little one they are a must for seeing them swim under water. But if you’re just doing some laps by yourself you’ll focus so much more with goggles. These speedo goggles are super pretty but also the soft, flexible seals offer fantastic flexibility and a cushioned fit around the eye to give a comfortable and yet secure fit.
Next up are the wear all the time slider sandals. These are great for so many reasons. (Say goodbye to those nasty grimy bits in changing rooms) and maybe it’s just me but I dry so much quicker when my feet aren’t wet! A big tip is to get yourself a microfiber towel. They are lightweight but wick up moisture super quick. Perfect for when it’s chilly.
Get yourself a medium sized mesh bag like this aqua blue speedo version. This practical bag offers mesh panels for airflow and water drainage as well as a front zip pocket for easy access. No smelly damp odours anymore! Finally, save yourself a small fortune and get a decent water bottle. Trust me, swimming can be thirsty work.
All of these essential swimming items are from Simply Swim. I don’t know about you, maybe it’s the new mummy side of me but I love one stop shopping these days! It makes life so much easier and of course, the postage works out much cheaper and you only have to be home for one delivery. Winning!
