Food can be a tricky topic because we all have such different relationships with it. That doesn’t mean it isn’t something we should talk about but it can mean that we should be careful when we navigate it. I make a rule of never judging or commenting on peoples food choices – after all, who has time to worry about what anyone else is eating anyway? I know that navigating a life on social media can be tough – even those social media accounts geared towards weight loss have to put up with comments about portion sizes or the wrong type of carb and it just makes the whole thing confusing and difficult to work through.

Putting the Right Food in Your Body

Although there is no real such thing as good and bad foods, there are definitely foods that can make you feel better when you eat them – or ones that you know won’t make you feel the best but you eat anyway. The best way to feel good about yourself is to choose a diet plan that makes your body happy – but also one that you’re happy with so that you are likely to stick to it.

By working with a personal diet consultant you’re able to get help and advice on what foods will be good for you to eat for the reasons behind them. Often, understanding why more protein would benefit us or why we should eat more leafy greens means that we’re more likely to keep it up because we know the reasons behind it. Lifestyle culture can encourage people to cut calories or eat as many “free” foods as they want but that doesn’t give any education or do any work surrounding relationships with food.

Creating The Right Relationship With Food

By working with a personal diet consultant such as the 1:1 diet, you get the benefit of someone else’s experience and qualifications. This means that they can work with you through any food issues or any food education that you need to enable you to stick to any diet plan you want – this could be to lose weight, it could be to feel stronger or less tired. Whatever the reasons, there are definitely things that you can do surrounding the food that you consume that can help. That doesn’t mean restricting yourself or giving up pizza forever, but it means having a solid understanding of food, what it does to your body and how you can benefit. By knowing more about the topic and working with a diet consultant to learn even more you are far more likely to be able to stick to a plan.

I’m all for living life and feeling your best while you do it; while knowing that everyone’s version of how they feel the best is different. However, if you do want to make changes to what you eat to help you feel better you have my full support; I’d just recommend you do it with some professional support so that you give yourself the best possible chance of sticking to your new regime.
