How to create a forest themed bedroom for your child
There are so many options when it comes to decorating your little one’s bedroom, you can sometimes feel spoilt for choice. Themed bedrooms are extremely popular, as they spark imagination and encourage children’s interests. If your little one likes spending time outdoors, or has a passion for fairytales, create an enchanting forest themed bedroom that they’ll love with these quick tips!

Create some woodland walls
The walls are normally the most eye-catching element of a room, so they’re a good place to start with any bedroom makeover. For this, you have the choice of finding a wallpaper with a woodland themed pattern, or get creative and paint a wall mural with tree’s and wildlife. Stick to a colour palette of greens and browns, and consider painting the ceiling in a blue shade to represent the sky.
Bring outdoor elements inside
Give their bedroom an authentic forest feel by bringing some plants into the space. These can be real or fake if you want something that’s easier to maintain, and will look great placed in corners of the room and hanging from ceilings. For your child’s floor, artificial grass could really bring the theme together – just order some free grass samples to help work out where it could go and how much you’ll need. If you have wooden floors, painting them a green shade could also be a good way to convey this theme, or try and find a textured green rug for a quicker and less permanent change.
Get imaginative with the decor
Once your child’s walls and floor have been transformed, it’s time to start thinking of other ways you can add to the forest theme. Look for patterned bedding in the same colour scheme, and curtains with cute details such as owl’s and other wildlife. There are also a number of themed bed frames that would look great paired with the rest of the decor, and even just switching a metal bed for a wooden bed could fit the theme perfectly. A paper leaf garland can look great hanging from your child’s window or ceiling, and you should look for any bits and bobs in second hand shops that you think will compliment the theme.
