Choosing which vehicle to buy when car shopping is a big decision! We recently had to get a new car and opted for a super Eco version, but we’re pretty clued up on the fact our next car may well be an electric one. It still seems a bit odd, like watching a movie. You know where we imagine cars to be flying in the air. Electric cars feel a little bit like that for me!

All of us have different needs from our cars, so it is important to make sure that you consider what you want from a vehicle and research what works for you. For example, we knew we wanted a big family car so we could comfortably take the boys out on day-trips without having to worry. Of course, safety was also a big concern too! For you, it could be a city swiftness, all teched up or it could be a car for different terrains. We all have our wants and needs. But what about electric vehicles? Have you thought about those?

Electric Vehicles

Although Tesla is a massive brand name, as electric vehicles go they haven’t quite yet become the norm when it comes to car buying. I personally think the reason for this is that most people assume they come with a price tag similar to Tesla, but that’s not the case at all. Places like Let’s Talk Leasing have a range of rental electric-hybrid cars that are surprisingly affordable. It’s just about doing the research.

Electric vehicles are certainly better for the environment, but for most of us, the cost of running a car is what concerns us the most. Electric hybrid cars tend to be affordable, especially if your car is likely to be doing lots of shorter journeys.

Each vehicle has its own range so you should do some research but often for a short journey like the school run and a trip to the supermarket, the whole journey will be done on battery – meaning you haven’t used any petrol at all, cool isn’t it? With such cost-effectiveness, it is no wonder the Government has launched a campaign to encourage more car drivers to switch to electric vehicles by 2030.

Buying An Electric Vehicle

Whether you decide that leasing or buying your next car is the right decision for you, you’ll be glad to know that there are plenty of electric vehicles for you to choose from. Big car brands such as Hyundai, Kia and Nissan all have their own electric vehicle offerings so it is well worth seeing what’s out there and what might suit you. The only thing you’ll really need to take into account is the charging. There are plenty of charging points in towns and cities now, they’re becoming the norm. Plus there are lots of options for having charging points at home. It might seem a little odd at first, but after a bit of research, it all starts to seem pretty regular! Don’t forget, in the near future, it will be the norm to have an electric car, so why not get ahead of the trend?
