How do you like your eggs in the morning? If you’re in my house, you’ll have to like them hard, shiny and plastic. Why? Because Marlo and Cameo will be making you a 5-star breakfast with their new Morphy Richards Kitchen Toy Set from Casdon! We love Casdon toys in our house. Great for imagination, role play and also great for helping the boys play together nicely. This set didn’t let us down and now we have our very own B&B ran by the boys. (In my imaginary land anyway!)

The set comes with everything the boys need to cook me up a fab Saturday style breakfast. From a kettle which has an on the switch, teacups, saucers, plastic breakfast items, a toast that pops (with toast included) and a fillable coffee maker which is almost like the real thing. (Minus the actual coffee, obviously). All the items are robust, we’ve had a bit of plastic bacon stuck in the microwave, the coffee maker dropped on the floor and the cups have taken a battering. But they’re all still in one piece, working and fully functional. Brilliant!

The thing that really kept the boys entertained with this set is that it can be turned into water play inside, which is perfect now the colder weather is here. The kettle and coffee maker all hold water. When you pop the water into the top of the coffee maker and then slip the coffee put underneath, it pushed a little section which allows the water to fill up the pot. It’s great for them to have this extra element. We did need to put a towel down to catch some of the mess made with the water, but when it’s only water I literally couldn’t care less! Of course, you don’t have to add the water but it did mean they played with the breakfast set for a solid hour this morning which made me very happy.

This Casdon Morphy Richards kitchen toy set is perfect for developing hand to eye co-ordination, trying to fill a teacup with water from a coffee pot is a great skill! It also allows exploration, role-play and imaginative play. It also helps with understanding cause and effect.  This morning, Cameo learnt that if he doesn’t stop pouring, he’ll end up in a puddle of pretend coffee!

It’s a great little set and we’ve had much more play out of it than I expected. It’s currently available from Selfridges for £17 and other toy stores. It’s a bargain for the price and I know it’s going to be incorporated into lots of their future playtimes.
