It’s been a wild ride over the last few months having both boys at home 24/7 during the lockdown. I feel like we’ve done every activity going and used up every bit of scrap paper in the house. From making dens in the garden to crowns out of cereal boxes, we’ve done a lot and now we’re almost out of ideas. It can be hard thinking of fun and educational activities for the boys to do. Especially when you’re trying to work from home at the same time. Mum guilt is most definitely real! So when Baker Ross sent a Craft-it BOX for each of the boys it was like a little lifesaver!
What is the Craft-it BOX?
It’s a monthly personalised box full of crafts that are sent through the post. You subscribe to the boxes but can cancel at any time and they cost just under £10 with free delivery. The theme is different every month, so this month our box was all about dinosaurs!
Every box will include two craft backs, which in my opinion are really generous. They give you at least two or three creations to do, there’s also a bumper activity book full of things to colour in, games, puzzles facts and more. Plus, there’s a sheet of themed stickers because what kid doesn’t love stickers?
What age is the Craft-it BOX for?
The box is aimed at ages 3-9 and you’re asked to put the date of birth of your little ones in the signup details. Saying that Marlo is 2 and loved getting involved in the mess-free play. He was totally sold on the stickers and loved putting the eyes on the dinosaurs and trying to piece everything together. Cameo is heading towards 4 years old and he loved the Craft-it BOX. He could fully do the crafts with a little adult help and was soon just plodding away doing it by himself. It was great watching him make his dinosaur magnets and he was adamant he didn’t need any more help from me!
Would you subscribe?
I have! We have gifted the first box as part of a review but we’ve actually gone ahead and subscribed. It’s great knowing that once a month the boys are going to get something lovely through the post that they’ll have fun doing, it’s safe and they’ll learn from it too. It also takes the pressure off us for a bit. There’s only so many crafting ideas we can think of so it’s nice that they have something really different to do… no input from us required! That mum guilt I was talking about earlier? This really helps with that!
I wish we’d found out about these craft boxes a few months ago but better late than never. They’re fab gifts too if you’re ever stuck for an idea for the little ones in your life. The first box is currently half price too so you might as well give it a go for yourself!
