This time last year there was an entire month dedicated to Fireman Sam on Cartoonito because of course, it’s almost bonfire night so it totally makes sense. Last year, every time the boys had TV time, Fireman Sam was there and ever since Cameo has been an absolute fan. He knows all the words to the songs and we bought him Fireman Sam toys for his birthday last year.
He dresses up as a fireman and will always say that’s what he wants to be when he is older. (Although, the other day, he said he wants to be a hot dog – so who knows!). When we saw that there was a new feature-packed Fire Station that you can open reveal the firefighters’ headquarters, I knew it would be on our Christmas and birthday list. The toys we’ve previously had are still being played with now, almost a year later. So I know they’re made to last.
The Fireman Sam Rescue Centre is a really interactive toy with lots of little features. There’s a working zip wire, a platform with a working pulley and training dolly (which the boys LOVE!), control centre unit, movable table and chair, doors that open and a working firefighter pole! It comes with an articulate Fireman Sam figure too and the entire unit is scaled so it works with other Fireman Sam toys from Character which is great for us!
A real bonus of this unit is that it can be closed up and carried. It means the boys can take it to their Grandparents or Aunties house or they can move it from room to room without losing anything.
There is so much to do with this playset but it doesn’t take up too much space. My little ones can play with it on their sofa, on the table or even in the car. It really does keep them busy because of all the different moving elements. It’s great for imaginative play and brings the programme to life! You’ll definitely get more out of it if you have a couple of extra figures. We’re Fireman Sam fans so Cameo already has Tom Thomas on hand with his helicopter ready to land at the Fire Training Centre to help Sam load up the dummy on the pulley!
My boys (and probably your little ones too) are excited to know there is to be a NEW Fireman Sam Special: Return of Norman-Man on Thursday 5th November at 5 pm only on Cartoonito. There’s also a cool stop-frame animation on the Character Options YouTube channel.
The Fireman Sam Fire Rescue Centre is available to buy from Argos and Smyths. No batteries are required and there’s no assembly required other than adding some stickers that are provided in the box. It’s suitable for ages 3 and upwards and it’s great for any little firefighter fan!
