It isn’t often that we find a toy that both the boys love, can both fully play with and the fun lasts longer than a day. Do you know the kind of toys where they want to take them to bed or in the car? The ones where they wake up in the morning and before they’ve even had breakfast they’re on the floor playing with them. What’s more, it’s rare when pre-school toys do this because little ones have an attention span of about 3 seconds! So when we received the new Cat® Junior Crew™ Vehicles by Funrise International (available at Smyths Toys) it was brilliant to see that they did all the above and more! We’ve finally found a toy that really keeps the boys (especially Marlo who is 2) entertained!

Cat® Junior Crew Power Tracks Friends Train Set – RRP £24.99

The favourite out of the new Cat® Junior Crew™ Vehicles range is our favourite out of the range so far and I can understand why as there’s something about it which brings the child out in me too! It’s basically a motorised train (which resembles a truck) that makes some amazing sounds (like chugga chugga choo choo) which really gets the boys excited! It also comes with a circular track, station and an extra dump truck and trailer which attaches to the train.  The boys press down on the trains helmet and off it goes on its adventure, amazing for hand to eye co-ordination and also fine motor skills. The train has amazing kid-vroom sounds which really get the boys excited! (You can turn this off by the way – parent tip!)

It’s also worth pointing out that the train works well by itself on our wood flooring too, so if they just want to play with it without the track it’s still great fun! There’s nothing worse than losing a bit of track and then the toy is redundant, but not in this case! I have to say, both boys loved this toy and we even had to take the train to Skegness Beach with us! Marlo especially loved it, because usually, he is a little too small to get things like this to work properly, but he has sussed out how to put on the station and the track and how to press the trains head to get it cracking. His reaction when it starts to move is pricesless, it’s like he’s won the lottery and it’s been hilarious for us to watch his joy. I think this toy is such great value for money and an absolute dream for any little ones around the 2-4 age mark.

Cat® Junior Crew Construction Buddies  – RRP £19.99

This was the toy that the boys took it, in turn, to play with while the other one was playing with the train. It was kind of the runner up option as far as they were concerned but has managed to beat almost every other toy we have since it arrived! This one is also made to help your child to develop their fine motor skills and once your little one has that lightbulb moment of how it works you’ll find all sorts in the dumper!

The 10” Cat Construction buddies come with three boulders, which when placed in the trucks bucket taps a sensor which drives the machine forward, it then unloads the boulders and reverses backwards. The wonder in the boy’s eyes is great when things like this move by themselves and make sounds. It’s such a fab toy and we’ve been putting conkers and acorns in the bucket today. The sensor works by touch, so your little ones can load up anything they like! From conkers to teddy bears!

Cat® Junior Crew Construction Pals – RRP £7.99

The cutest of the bunch, the mini Cat Construction Pals are fab for things like car journeys or taking to the park. Also great for your really little ones who might not be able to fully engage in independent play. On this one, you or your little one presses down on the helmet and watch as the face changes on the front of the truck along with a cute Kid-Vroom Sounds™ that will soon be copied by your little one (trust me). It’s a great little toy and I think it’s a perfect gift for your toddler or pre-schooler that pretty good on the purse strings too.

I’m chuffed at how interactive the entire range is, how robust it is against constant play and how engaging they all are from sounds to movements. Compared to lot’s of other similar toys on the market, these are all great quality and really amazing value. The fact we’re a week or so into having them and the boys are still constantly playing with them means they’re a total thumbs up from me (and them!)
