We’ve been very lucky with Cameo. He has pretty much always been a good sleeper and now, at 2 years old, he sleeps 7 pm – 7 am. Even if he does wake up, at the moment he is quite happy to just chill in his bed singing or playing with his toys. We really hit the jackpot with sleep when it came to Cameo. But, now we have Marlo. Who is the total opposite. He’s only 13 months old but he hates to sleep. He wakes up every 3 hours and it’s not even for milk or a dummy. It’s because he just wants to be up! Even more so now he’s found his feet!
We’ve had a really strong bedtime routine ever since Cameo was little and we’re sticking to it with Marlo too. Around 5.30pm after dinner and a run around the garden, we’ll sit and watch the boys favourite TV to settle them a little. One of their favourites (and ours) is Moon and Me.
Moon and Me is a classic series of gentle and emotive tales about a magical toy, Pepi Nana, who lives in a Toy House with a family of Toy Friends, It’s on at 5.45pm on CBeebies every weekday. (For the weekends you can find it on BBC iPlayer).
The narrator has a really soothing voice and the stories are quite chilled with lovely music. It’s all very cute. Obviously, the boys are enthralled in it but sometimes I giggled to myself because the characters are just so funny. Mr Onion is a personal favourite of mine (watch it and you’ll see why – he literally has me shouting out ‘Onions’ just to make Chiino and I laugh). Colly Wobble and Moon Baby are a couple of the boy’s favourites.
It’s an easy to watch programme that keeps the boys settled for a little bit before we start the rest of the bedtime routine. As with most popular kids shows, children build up a little connection with the characters. We think it’s great that Hasbro has launched a brand new Moon and Me toy collection. The new product line will feature the characters Pepi Nana, Moon Baby, Mr Onion, Sleepy Dibillo, and Colly Wobble across a range of figures, plush and playsets. We were kindly sent a little hamper to celebrate and the boys love the little gifts. Especially the Moon and Me Talking Moon Baby Plush Doll that Marlo loves. There are also some really affordable figure backs which are great for imaginative play and bringing the characters on the tv to life.
As I said earlier, you can catch Moon and Me on CBeebies every weekday at 5.45pm.
